Red Hat Linux 8.0
You can install the Official Red Hat Linux documentation on your local system from
this CD-ROM so that you can view the HTML version from your hard
drive. After inserting the Documentation CD, you will be prompted to enter
the root password. After successful authentication, the Package
Management Tool interface will allow you to select which packages
to install from the CD-ROM.
Alternatively, as root, open a shell prompt such as an XTerm or GNOME Terminal
and change to the directory on the CD-ROM that contains the
RPM packages:
cd /mnt/cdrom/RedHat/RPMS/
Then, use the rpm command to install them:
rpm -Uvh *.rpm
For ease of viewing, documents installed from this CD-ROM will
be added as an
entry under Documentation on the main menu.
