St. Helena

This game is played with two packs.

The object of this game is to complete the eight foundation piles (in the middle) with cards of the same suit.

Four foundations are built up from Ace up to King and the other four foundations are built from King down to Ace.

The game begins with the four Aces and the four Kings from one pack being dealt placed to start the foundation piles. The remainder of the pack is shuffled. The second pack is separately shuffled and placed under the first pack in the deck. This means that the other Aces and Kings will not appear until towards the end of the first deal through the deck.

There are also twelve working heaps. Cards are dealt from the deck to these working heaps each time the deck is clicked on. Throughout the game, whenever a card appears that can be placed on one of the foundations, then it may be placed moved there from the working piles, with the restriction that cards from the top four working piles can only be placed on the top four foundation piles, and similarly, cards from the bottom four working piles can only be placed on the bottom four foundation columns.

If a working pile becomes empty and there are still cards in the deck, then a card will automatically be dealt from the deck into the vacant pile.

Cards cannot be moved between the working piles whilst cards still remain in the deck. Once all the cards in the deck have been dealt out, then cards may be moved between the working piles providing the card they are being placed on is either one above or below in value and of the same suit. Only one card at the time can be moved between working piles. Cards cannot be moved to empty working piles. Empty working piles can only be filled from the deck.

When the deck is empty, the restriction on moving cards from the top and bottom working piles to the opposite foundation piles is temporarily removed.

When no more cards can be moved, the working piles can all be moved back to the deck and re-dealt by clicking on the base where the deck was. The cards can be re-dealt through in this fashion only twice.

The game is successfully completed if all cards are moved from the deck and working piles to the foundation piles.
