Install the program as Administrator on Windows NT/2000/XP operating systems and run it with Administrator rights.
DO NOT INSTALL THIS PROGRAM THROUGH A TERMINAL SERVICE CLIENT.
Unzip the downloaded program to a temporary directory. The unzipped setup.exe file is 14,909kb in size. The downloaded file might be corrupted if your program does not install properly or you get an Error 2355. The files size should be the same as in the screen shot below if you right-click on the downloaded file from Windows Explorer. Download the file from another location if not.
If you are installing on a machine which contains no previous installation of SurfStats Log Analyzer, just run the setup.exe file to install.
We suggest that you test the program first by installing it on a machine where the current licensed
version is not installed on. If you want to run it on the same machine where
the current licensed version is installed on, please do the following:
1. Save the site profiles (File - Save site profiles) This only works from
build 6.0.1.1. There is no save schedules option because you can create new
schedules fast and easy:
1. Choose the site profile names wisely. You can then use the "site macro" feature to output reports to file directories relative to the site profile name.
2. Click on Add a task in the scheduler.
3. Select all the sites you want schedules for (use Ctrl or Shift and mouse click for multiple selection)
4. Set up the task schedule and GO. Tasks will be completed one after the other
2. Exit the program and scheduler and make sure no instances of the program is running.
3. Use the Add/Remove programs to remove the current version. In some cases you might have to delete the \Program Files\Surfstats and the \Program Files\Borland directories (e.g. if the program runs very slowly)
4. Install the new program
5. Restore the site profiles (File-Restore Site Profiles).
6. Use the Rebuild Database option and rebuild all.
After you have installed the program, run it and select the Edition button on the left hand menu. Then choose to run the program either as Standard or Professional or Enterprise Edition.
The version should show up as 6.7.0.3 when you click on Help-About in the SurfStats Log Analyzer program.
If you need to remove the program to re-install an older version, please do the following:
1. Use the Add/Remove Programs from the Windows Control Panel to remove the program.
2. Delete the directories:
\Program Files\Surfstats
\Program Files\Borland
3. Delete the following files from the \Winnt (or \Windows) directory:
surfstats.ini
