Introduction

Welcome to CryptosLiTe! CryptosLiTe in an encryption application featuring an easy to use interface. Encryption is the art of coding a computer file to make text unreadable or an executable file useless without first decrypting it. CryptosLiTe was designed with new computer users in mind and therefore it is not a complicated looking program. There no need for a user to select decryption or encryption modes or types as CryptosLiTe does everything automatically. All you have to do is follow the easy steps below.

To Encrypt a File:

Step 1: Specify the file you want to encrypt in the File Name: box or you can click on the Browse button to look for the file you want to encrypt.

Step 2: Specify the file you want the encryption text to appear in the Target File: box or you can click on the Browse button to look for the file you want the encryption text to go.

Step 3: Specify the Key you want to encrypt the file with in the Key: box. A key is your own personal way to encrypt a file. CryptosLiTe does not limit the number of characters your key can be. The key you specify will be used to encrypt the file you specified earlier. Choose a key which is not easy to guess. Try not to use a key which is available from a dictionary or can be associated with you.

***IMPORTANT*** Please remember your encryption key, for without it, you WILL NOT be able to decrypt your file!

Step 4: Confirm the key you have chosen by typing it again in the Confirm Key box.

Step 5: Click on the DoIT! Button. That’s it!!!

To Decrypt a File:

Step 1: Specify the file you want to decrypt in the File Name: box or you can click on the Browse button to look for the file you want to decrypt.

Step 2: Specify the file you want the decrypted text to appear in the Target File: box or you can click on the Browse button to look for the file you want the decrypted text to go.

Step 3: Specify the Key to decrypt the file with in the Key: box.

***IMPORTANT*** The Key you specify must match the Key you encrypted the file with or the target file will just be another encrypted file.

Step 4: Confirm the key by typing it again in the Confirm Key box.

Step 5: Click on the DoIT! Button. That’s it!!!
