• As an animated catalog. CoolSlides can be set to any size to display pictures with descriptions. Your visitor can look over all of your products without clicking.
• As a photo album. CoolSlides can display upto a thousand of pictures for you in one page. Your visitors do not need to click on the thumbnails and wait for the pictures anymore.
• To advertise your own web pages with many URLs linked to your slides. Show your stuff and get web surfers beyond your home page.
• To distribute your product information. Zip up your product catalog with CoolSlides for your viewers to download.
• To dress up your web pages. Text and blank spaces do not get surfers' attention. Put in the CoolSlides animation for a change.

1. Download CoolSlides. It is fully functional and FREE!
2. Unzip CoolSlides using Windows, Macintosh or Unix compatible software. DOS unzipping software will cut off the long file names. If you do not have proper unzipping software, you can download WinZip.
3. Go over the ReadMe.txt
4. Make sure your browser is Java-enabled.
   Netscape: Check under Options -> Network -> Preferences -> Languages.
   Internet Explorer: Check under View -> Options -> Advanced -> Java VM
   
5. Open the Example.html in your web browser by:
   
   • double clicking on it,
   • dragging it to your browser, or
   • choosing "File -> Open"; from your browser.

Use a text editor or your browser's editor to change the values of the HTML tags. Save the file, then press the Reload or the Refresh icon on your browser to see your changes in the display. You can pause the animation by moving the cursor onto the display window. Check it out and make some more changes if you wish. Back to Top.

How do I lead a surfer to a slide or category?

You can use any interactive methods, such as buttons or image maps to lead surfers to specific slides and categories. These methods can be imbedded anywhere in your web page. You can tells CoolSlides to jump to a certain slide, with an optional extension to tell CoolSlides to go forward, to go backward, or to pause after displaying that slide. If you have 50 products in 5 categories, you can use a list to jump to any product and optionally pause there, and your can use another list to jump to the entry slide of any category and slide the products of that category one after the another. How Do I Display CoolSlides at My Web Site?

All you have to do is to place the Example.html and the CoolSlides.class in the same location at your web site. You can also copy the segment from "<applet" to "</applet>", form the Example.html and paste it to anywhere in your web pages.

When you upload, make sure that you upload the CoolSlides.class as a binary file. Make a sub directory "slides" at the same location and upload the image files you used in to the "slides" sub directory. Back to Top.

How Can I Attach My CoolSlides to an E-mail?

If you have made a CoolSlides show, you can email it to a friend as an Animated Greeting Card.

For web based email, such as YahooMail, just attach your CoolSlides web page to your email. Or, you can copy the HTML codes of the CoolSlides to your email body. For regular email agent, such as Microsoft Outlook

• Start a new email and enter your introduction text
• Select the RichText(HTML) Format from the pull down menu
• Copy your CoolSlides displayt from your web page
  To make sure, drag the mouse for a text line above the CoolSlides display to a text line below the CoolSlides display. Right click on the highlighted text and select "Copy" from the popup menu.
• Go back to your email, right click and select "Paste".
  You will see the CoolSlides animation show up in your email.

Is the CoolSlides Light Edition Fully Functional and FREE?

Yes, it is! You are also permitted to give or sell it to a third party if you wish. The CoolSlides does not have registration requirement attached.
