Remote Capabilities - And Client Diskettes
General Overview
Since the advent of the modem through the sophisticated communications of today it has always been an advantage to be able to diagnose and repair systems from a remote location. Mainframes have had the capability for many years, as well as several operating systems.
Drive Master 2000 offers this powerful tool as well.
Communications Port
Choosing a communications port is as easy as using this drop down menu. Make sure that the modem is utilizing the communications port chosen.
(These are
the only options on the client diskette. This assures that your customer cannot touch any
keys or even see what you are doing.)
Baud rate is chosen using the same type of drop down menu.
Make sure that the modem will support the chosen baud rate.
If you have problems connecting, try lowering the baud rates to 9600 or 19200. Some higher speed modems do not use the same methods of translations for packeting information. Lowering the speeds of both modems may help.
