Information Online is the self-syndicated weekly newspaper column by David Novak of the Spire Project (spireproject.com). It is a perceptive look at the world of information through an expert's eyes.

Initial Points:
  • I have two sample columns ready to send that interested newspapers may print free of charge.
  • The text to each column can be found at the exact address printed on the top of each page. If you can't find it, just drop me a line and I'll email it to you (feedback form).
  • No, Information Online can not be read here - only through syndicating newspapers.
  • If you want to bring an event to our attention, please use our feedback form.
  • Description:
For such a popular pastime, navigating the internet is very challenging. As the volume and value of internet information grows - and our expectations rise with it - a great cross-section of our community will struggle with finding information online.

This column empowers the newspaper reader; saves them time and disappointment.

My name is David Novak and I built the Spire Project (spireproject.com), the top internet site on information research. For the last three years I have been researching, reporting and simplifying the process of searching online, covering the tools and techniques for searching news, patents, statistics, discussion and the web.

In simple terms, I am one of the few experts in online research. Like interviewing in the hands of a detective or journalist, the internet can be a powerful tool to gather information quickly. Public attention lavished on Google and Yahoo misses the strength and depth of other approaches to taming the internet. There is so much more to finding information and I am best situated to encounter and interpret developments for your audience.

      Sample Pieces:
        Search Engines need Finesse.
        Commercial Information, Publicly Funded.

              First Set of 5 Columns:
        Information Pollution.
Consult more than a Search Engine.
        Feeling Lost?
        Getting Found.
    Information Values Fall.
Information Online is not an anecdotal or purely technical column. Each seven hundred-word article builds understanding and perspective gently. To see the sample columns, just drop me a line.

    Sincerely,

    David Novak - david@spireproject.com
