alone, and he went away to his own home, wondering at that which was come to

ierousalhm h onoma emmaouv (YLT) And, lo, two of them were
going on during that day to a village, distant sixty furlongs from Jerusalem,
the name of which is Emmaus, (KJV) And, behold, two of
them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem

whose name was Cleopas, answering, said unto him, `Art thou alone such a
stranger in Jerusalem, that thou hast not known the things that came to pass in
it in these days?' (KJV) And the one of them, whose name was

hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days?

to them, `What things?' And they said to him, `The things about Jesus of
Nazareth, who became a man -- a prophet -- powerful in deed and word, before
God and all the people, (KJV) And he said unto them, What
things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a
prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people: (ASV)

how also the chief priests and our rulers did deliver him up to a
judgment of death, and crucified him; (KJV) And how the chief

(YLT) and we were hoping that he it is who is about to redeem
Israel, and also with all these things, this third day is passing to-day, since
these things happened. (KJV) But we trusted that it had been
he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third
day since these things were done. (ASV) But we hoped that it

from all the prophets, he was expounding to them in all the Writings the things

of sins to be proclaimed in his name to all the nations, beginning from
