This one is a lot of fun. When set to true, x3270's icon becomes a live
miniature of the screen display. There are some limitations, spelled out
in the man page.

options. The purpose of disabling mouse resizing is to allow a window

This resource can be overridden by the x3270.visualBell resource, which
if set to true, will replace the bell with a flash of the screen.

Individual host character set definitions. These resources take one of two
forms: a set of exceptions (differences from the U.S. English host
character set), or a full EBCDIC-to-display-code translation table.
If the first token in the resouce is "#table", then it is interpreted as
a full table. It must consist of 256 whitespace-separated values, each
giving the display code for the corresponding EBCDIC code.
If the first token is not "#table", then it is interpreted as a series
of newline-separated strings that define how an EBCDIC national character
set differs from IBM's standard U.S. English set (codepage 37). Each
string is a number, a colon, and a symbol. The number is the EBCDIC code
in decimal, and the symbol is a single character, the ISO Latin-1 name of
the graphic it represents, or a hexadecimal number in the form 0xnn.
In either style of definition, the display code can be preceded by an
asterisk "*" to indicate a one-way translation. One-way translations
are used when multiple EBCDIC codes are displayed with the same display
code. The entry without the asterisk is used to define how that one
display code is translated back to EBCDIC.

Defines the "Character Set" pull-right menu.
x3270.codepage.hostCharset Default 37
Code page definitions for various host character sets. If x3270.charset is
x, then x3270.codepage.x defines the IBM code page reported to the
host in a Query Reply. The default code page is 37. The base character
set and the code page are combined into a CGCSGID reported to the host. If
the value of x3270.codepage.x is a 16-bit number (less than 65536), then
the code page is combined with the default base character set of 697 to
form the CGCSGID. If the value of x3270.codepage.x is greater than 16
bits, then it specifies the entire CGCSGID reported to the host.
x3270.color8 Default False
If set to True, x3270 will respond to a Query(Color) with a list of 8
supported colors. If set to False (the default), it will send a list
of 16 colors. The 8-color setting is required for some hosts which
abort a session if 16 colors are reported.

on color X displays when the x3270.model specifies 3278 (pseudo-color)

The font used for the emulator window. By default it is 3270, a 14-pixel
clone of a real 3278 display font. A nice substitution is 3270-12, which
is a little more compact. Actually, x3270 can use any X font, so long as
it uses constant spacing. However, only 3270 and 3270-12 allow displaying
all special symbols on the status line.

A list of known fonts for a given displayCharset. Each line describes
a font. The list serves two purposes: it is presented as the Font menu
when the displayCharset is selected, and it is searched when that
displayCharset is selected for use.
On each line, if there is text separated by a ":", that text appears as the
menu label. Otherwise, the font name is displayed. If the keyword
#noauto appears before the font name, the font will not be a
candidate for automatic selection when the displayCharset is selected.
If the keyword #resize appears before the font name, the font will
be used to change the screen size in response to Window Manager requests.
Finally, a font name may be preceded by a "!" to override character set
checking, in case the font's properties have been improperly defined.
Each emulatorFontList is implicitly followed by two entries:
*-r-*-c-*-displayCharset
*-r-*-m-*-displayCharset
(Actually, each of those two entries will be expanded for each of the
components in the displayCharset). This will find any
constant-spaced fonts implementing that display character set.

the default for monochrome X displays.
"3279" specifies a color 3270 display. This is the default for
color X displays.

The model number, which determines the size of the screen. The
default is 4.

An optional suffix which specifies support for the 3270 Extended
Data Stream (color, extended attributes, query reply). 3279

x3270.modifiedSel Default false
When set to true, modified fields are displayed in a different color than
other modifiable fields. In 3278 mode, this color is the "input" (light
pen selectable) color, defined by the x3270.inputColor resource. In 3279
mode, this is the color whose index is defined by the
x3270.modifiedSelColor resource. When x3270.modifiedSel is set to false,
modified fields are displayed in the same colors as unmodified fields.

Sets the screen dimensions to be larger than the default for the

structured field will function properly with x3270 in this mode.

When true, x3270 will save an ASCII version of the screen image in
a file, which defaults to /tmp/x3scr.<pid>, every time it is redrawn.
The directory prefix is defined by the traceDir resource. If the
screenTraceFile resource is defined, it explicitly defines the file name
and traceDir is ignored.

If defined, gives the name of the file that screen traces will be
written to.
x3270.scripted Default false Switch -scripted
When true, x3270 will read commands from standard input. The rules for
these commands are documented in x3270script(1).

When true, x3270 will display a scroll bar to the right of the emulator

x3270.secure Default false
When true, x3270 will prevent users from executing arbitrary commands
from within the program. In particular, the "Execute an Action" menu
option is disabled, as are the pop-ups which allow editing the commands
for "Print Screen Text" and "Print Window Bitmap", and the
x3270.disconnectClear resource is set to True. See the x3270.noOther
resource for additional security options.
x3270.selectBackground Default dim gray
On color X displays, this is the background color used for selected text
(text highlighted with the mouse for cut and paste). On monochrome
X displays, selected text is in reverse video.
x3270.showTiming Default false Switch -set showTiming

When true, x3270 will display on the status line the time that the host
takes to unlock the keyboard after an AID is sent.
x3270.termName Default IBM-327x-n Switch -tn
An alternate name to be sent in response to the host's "DO OPTION
TERMINAL-NAME" request. The default is "IBM-" followed bu the value of
the "x2370.model" resource.
x3270.traceDir Default /tmp
Defines the directory that data stream traces and screen images are saved
in.
x3270.traceFile No default Switch -tracefile
If defined, gives the name of the file that data stream and event traces
will be written to. If given the value 'stdout', then the traces will
be written to standard output. If given the value 'none', then the
traces will be piped directory to the monitor window, and no file will
be created.
x3270.traceFileSize No default Switch -tracefilesize
If defined, gives a limit on the size of the file that data stream and
event traces will be written to. If not defined, or defined as '0', there
will be no limit on the size of the file. The value is a number, followed
by an optional suffix. If the suffix is 'K' (e.g., '128K'), the value will
be multiplied by 1024. If the suffix is 'M', the value will be multiplied
by (1024*1024). The size limit enforced at operation boundaries, not per
byte, so the actual file may grow slightly larger. When the file size
exceeds the limit, the second half of the file will be written over the
first, so that in steady state, the file size will vary between half the
traceFileSize and the entire traceFileSize.
x3270.traceMonitor Default true
When true, x3270 will create an xterm to monitor data stream and event
traces. When false, no monitor window will be created (and the value of
'none' for x3270.traceFile will be invalid).
x3270.typeahead Default true
When true, x3270 will store keystrokes in a buffer when the keyboard is
locked. When false, these keystrokes will be dropped.
x3270.useCursorColor Default false
If set to false, the cursor is drawn using the same color as the text
behind it. If set to true, on color X displays the cursor is drawn with
the color specified by the x3270.cursorColor resource.
x3270.visualBell Default false
When true, x3270 will flash the screen in response to an ALARM WCC or
BELL character, rather than ringing the X display's bell.
x3270.visualSelect Default false
This resource controls how x3270 displays light pen selectable fields
that do not have a color explicitly set by the host. When set to true,
x3270 these fields using the color defined by x3270.visualSelectColor
(default 6). When set to false, x3270 will display these fields based on
their highlighting attribute. The attribute is used only in 3279 mode.
x3270.visualSelectColor Default 6
The 3270 color index of the color to use when displaying light pen
selectable fields. This resource is used only if x3270.visualSelect is
set to true. The default is 6 (yellow).
x3270.waitCursor Default watch
The name of the mouse cursor displayed when x3270 is connected to a host,
but is unable to process keyboard input. Cursor names are in the file
<X11/cursorfont.h>.
x3270.werase Default ^W
Used in ANSI mode, when communicating in line-at-a-time mode (when x3270
gathers a line of input before forwarding it to the host). Defines a
special character used for editing input, and has exactly the same
function as the "stty" parameter of the same name.
When connected in ANSI character-at-a-time mode (when x3270 sends each
keystroke to the host), this is the ASCII character that is sent to
the host in response to the DeleteWord action.
x3270*keyPad*large*font Default fixed
The font used to paint the "large" labels on the keys in the keypad, i.e.,
the PA and PF keys.
x3270*keyPad*small*font Default -*-fixed-medium-r-semicondensed-*-12-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
The font used to paint the "small" labels on the keys in the keypad, e.g.,
the "Mono Case" key.
