Fonts Without Symbol Encoding

Normally, you should use symbol encoded barcode fonts in your applications if possible. Symbol encoded fonts display the name of the font in standard text instead of in the font's text. This is necessary when you are working in a application where you need to select the font from a drop down menu.

However, there are a few applications and situations where symbol encoded fonts do not work. Because of this, we provide non-symbol encoded fonts for applications that are not compatible with symbol encoded fonts. Applications that have problems with symbol encoded fonts usually involve embedding or generating documents and files such as PDF document creation utilities. If you are experiencing a strange font problem, try non-symbol encoded versions which are usually provided in a folder named "Without Symbol Encoding" in the ZIP file.
