Backup? Backup!
Poor administrator! The company has already tens of computers, everyone sends e-mails and creates documents and Mr. Director´s disk has just collapsed. Do we not back up? Poor administrator can still remind, that everyone should place the documents on the server, but does anyone take him seriously? And is there not any other way?

Backup. A thing which is neglected by many people and as soon as electronics fails, they rend their hair from the head. They do have the complete accounting for the last year on the disc! The whole seminar work which the pedantic professor is going to require tomorrow! And what am I going to present at the meeting tomorrow?

Crikey. What a terrible noise does the disk emit?
Your computer system surely has it's own instruments for backup. But:

User: But .. but I didn't know how to use it!
Admin: I have sent an email to everyone to store the documents on the server three times!
User: I have no time to loose with your emails. I don’t understand them at all and that’s that. I had it in My documents, so you should have seen to it.
Admin: When you are not sui juris, then it's not my fault. [Leaving furiously]

And the data are gone... The basic problem of firms is, that the users rely on the administrator, who "should reckon with that" and secure IT operation in such a way, that nothing could happen. But the poor administrator has slews of other worries, than making the round of all firm computers and set backups. The user will not run them anyway. Or he will stop them, because he needs to work now. And the data are gone...

How to backup?
The foundation stone of backing up by means of the NetBackup.lite application is an idea of having the important data from workstations (documents, mail) duplicated somewhere. Further it is necessary to ensure regular update, preferably without any user interaction.

Why NetBackup.lite?
Because it is great :o). But certainly, certainly, how does that all work in fact? Simply. Once in a while, according to your needs, it will back up chosen folders somewhere on the network server or other station. Thus you can back up the station on some disk once a week, twice a day or at your pleasure and then burn this backup on CD-R, record on a tape or erase :o)

It is a cheap, quick and simple solution, which you can easily adapt to your needs.

What do we need?
A computer running as a file server with appropriate hard disk inside, the NetBackup.lite program and a piece of a tasty cake :)

It is sufficient to get basically acquainted with the problematics. Are we going to set the product? [more]
