5 ON LINES Version 1.0 - Help & Registration

1. About the game "5 On Lines" is an advanced implementation of the ancient Japanese game named GoMoku, that means 'five stones in a row'. Our game has now many options, such as several board sizes, two styles of pieces or online playing. You can play against the computer (three levels) or against another human player (directly or via an Internet connection). The goal of the game is the same: you have to get 5 of your pieces on the board in a horizontal, vertical or diagonal line, before your opponent does. No installation needed, just unzip and run the exe file.

2. How to play You have the blue pieces, while your opponent has the red ones. The players place alternatively their pieces on the board, by clicking the left mouse button in the desired square. When playing against the computer, you can select the game level from 'easy' to 'hard'. The game is finished when a player has five or more pieces in a line. You can change the game settings using the self explanatory buttons or you can start a Net game from the 'Internet' panel.

3. Internet or network games To play via Internet or in a local network, firstly you have to make a connection between the computers. This can be done if at least one player (the caller) knows the IP address of the other one (the listener). The caller must enter the IP in the upper field of the menu and then press the CALL button. If the connection was made, the caller can start a Net game by pressing the PLAY button. The game ends when a player won or the connection is lost (no resume allowed). The communication between computers is based on TCP/IP protocol and the used port is 6304, so enable them if the firewall is active.

5. Registration "5 On Lines" is shareware. You can open it, with all options activated, 14 times. After this, you can buy this game for a small price (see the link below). Once registered, the user can play the game on one computer at a time.
