ReadMe for ReDateIt


Purpose:

ReDateIt can change a file's time, date, or attribute.

FreeWare for personal use.

ShareWare for professional use.

System requirements:

Windows 95-NT 32-bit only

Uses:

Sometimes the date and size is as important as the file name
in determining the latest version of a file.

To set all files in a project to the same date.

To change file date of files downloaded from the internet.

To use the time of a file as the version number.

Where to download:

created date
modified date
accessed date

Setup:

  ReDateIt.exe   2-02-99  ver 1.01


requires ReDateIt.dll 11-17-98

in the directory 'C:\Program Files\ReDateIt'
Requires these Visual Basic 4 files:

VB40032 DLL

MSVCRT20 DLL
MSVCRT40 DLL

ctl3d32.dll used with Windows NT only (included in NT)

NT should only need VB40032.DLL.

Bugs reported:

Bug 1:

"RunTime error '48': Error in loading DLL"

solution:

ReDateIt.dll not in c:\windows\system directory.

Bug 2:

"RunTime Error '9': Subscript out of range"
"RunTime Error '5': Invalid procedure call"
"RunTime Error '380': Invalid property value"

problem:

Windows 95 Clock set to 24 hour clock.

solution:

go to Control Panel | Regional Settings

set time to: h:mm:ss tt

set date to: M/d/yy
