| Install AniChoice To install AniChoice run the SETUP.EXE, the 'Start'..'Run' command, or by using the 'Add/Remove Programs' applet in the Control Panel.

| Start AniChoice You will find the AniChoice program entry in the Windows start / programs / -menu. If you have activated the AniChoice Menu option "Run at system startup", AniChoice starts automatically each computer startup.

| Menu "Install Cursors" | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| It's the area where you can install new cursors.

| On the left side there's a field where all standard cursors are listed, 5 rows with three cursors each. You can see a non-animated example picture of each actually installed cursor. There are up to 15 standard cursors in Windows. Win98 has 15, Win95 and NT4 have 14 different cursors. This cursor no. 15 in Win98 is the link cursor, Microsoft added it for the active desktop and you cannot find it in Win95 and NT4. In Win95 and NT you can see the link cursor field in the program surface too but you cannot install cursors for this cursor type. |  | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

On the top right side of the Install cursors window there's a little file manager. In the file manager field you can search for a special folder and for your cursor files. Below the folder area you can select what cursor files shall become displayed. There are 4 options:

| Install a cursor There are two ways to install a new cursor. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 1.) Via Drag and Drop - select the new cursor in the little file manager, left click on it and throw it (hold the left mouse button clicked) to the Windows Cursor area, to the cursor you want have replaced .... ready !

| 2.) Select the cursor in the Windows Cursors area you want to replace (1). You see a little preview of the selected cursor in the "Current" Preview between file manager and Windows Cursors area. In the file manager doubleclick the cursor you want to have as the new cursor. |  | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| You will see a little animation of this cursor in the "Candidate" Preview (2). After that click the "Replace" button (3) and old and new cursors are exchanged on your computer

| Background check Here you can check out whether a cursor looks good with a special background. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| You left click a cursor name in the file manager and throw it - holding the left button clicked - to the background preview area. When the cursor reaches this preview area your pointer cursor changes into the selected cursor. |  | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| There's no need to hold the left mouse button clicked after that, the selected cursor keeps your pointer cursor until the cursor leaves the background preview area. In case you go back once again the cursor turns into the last selected cursor again. Just activate the option field next to the desired background type and watch the effect.

| Scheme Here you can save, load or delete an entire cursor scheme (14 resp. 15 standard cursors in one go). | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| To save a new scheme: Click "New" in the scheme area after that click "Save" In the appearing "Save as" window select the folder where to save the scheme data and enter a scheme name. Click "Save" in the "Save as" window. |  | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| To load an existing scheme: Just select one in the scheme name field | To delete an existing scheme: Select it in the scheme name field and click the "Delete" button.

| Let AniChoice exchange your cursors automatically.

| AniChoice can exchange every cursor type and complete schemes in different time periods. First you have to select between cursor exchange ("Cursor") and scheme exchange ("Scheme"). Activate the corresponding option field at top of the window. In case you select "Cursor" you have to select one of the cursor types now. After that you have to select the time period between a cursor / scheme exchange. For each cursor type and the scheme you can select:

| Just activate this option field and AniChoice will display selected cursors and schemes randomly, otherwise AniChoice will repeat selected cursors or schemes in always the same order.

| For every cursor type and the scheme exchange you can define the group of cursors / schemes AniChoice shall exchange randomly or in a special order. Push the button and the "Group" window opens (see below).

| The Group window Select the cursors for random exchange. For each cursor type and the scheme exchange there's a special group window and there you can select the group of exchange cursors for each cursor type and scheme. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Just select one or more cursors in the little file manager and throw them - holding the left mouse button clicked on the selection - into the "Cursors" field on the left side of the window (drag and drop). AniChoice displays the cursors in the same order you have thrown them into the "Cursors" area. If you have activated the "Random exchange" option before, AniChoice displays the cursors and schemes randomly. |  | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| When you have selected the cursors for a special group, click the "OK" button. You can add new cursors to this group at every time. In addition you can remove cursors from the group. Just select one or more cursors in the "Cursors" field and click the "Remove" button below the field. You have to repeat this steps above for all cursor types you want randomly exchanged and you can select different exchange time periods for each cursor type.

| A click on the Minimize menu entry shrinks the AniChoice program window to a small icon in the taskbar, the AniChoice icon. |  | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| AniChoice remain active, it is merely temporarily invisible. To maximize the AniChoice program window just doubleclick the little AniChoice icon in the taskbar. Important: the AniChoice features, for example automatic cursor exchange, are only active as long as AniChoice is running. Don't exit the program, just minimize the AniChoice window clicking on the Minimize menu entry.

| In case you start AniChoice or it starts automatically because you have activated the "Run at system startup" option, the program window opens. |  | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Activate "Start minimized" (just click the menu entry) and the program window becomes minimized automatically each program start. This is useful when you want the automatic cursor exchange running and there's no need to change other options in AniChoice.

| If you want to use the automatic cursor exchange regularly you should activate this option. |  | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Activate "Run at system startup" (just click the menu entry) and AniChoice will start automatically every time you start your computer. In case you have enabled the automatic cursor exchange, AniChoice will start exchange your cursors after the predefined time periods. Important: Do not change the setting more than one time each computer session. Since AniChoice has to change the Windows registry, several changes while one computer session may cause problems. WinNT users should restart WinNT after activating the option.

| Menu "Register" | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Upgrade your Shareware version to an unlimited full version. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Only in the unregistered Shareware version you will find this menu entry. Click the register menu entry and you will see the registration window where you can enter your personal password. You will receive your personal password when you have paid the registration fee of 19 USD. You can use the unregistered AniChoice version (trial version) for 21 days. After this time the program will stop working. You can register the program by using the register program (register.exe) included in the AniChoice program package. Just execute the file register.exe and follow the easy to understand instructions. You can pay the registration fee with check, credit card or cash, online via E-mail (always encoded) or via postal mail. More details you will find out in the register program. | A click on this menu entry displays the AniChoice start window. In the unregistered version you can see the remaining time (days) until the end of the trial period of 21 days.

| A click on this menu entry will terminate AniChoice. Any automatic cursor exchange stops until the next AniChoice program start. Hint: when you exit AniChoice but keep Windows running, on some computers the pointer cursors goes back to the Windows standard pointer even if you have selected another pointer cursor in the AniChoice Install cursors menu. In that case just go the Windows mouse settings menu ("Start / Settings / Control Panel / Mouse / Pointer") and just click the "OK" button. That will reinstall the selected pointer. Apart from that you should keep AniChoice always active until the computer shutdown.
