BeLoad is a system monitor that takes the current CPU load and charts it in a window. An example is shown below.
The BeLoad window.
On a multi-processor machine, the load for the processors is colored differnetly and stacked. The when a bar in the window is the entire window's height, 1000f the CPU is being used. On a multi processor machine, when a bar is as tall as the window, all of the processors are being used to their maximum. When BeLoad is resized, the history is delete and started over. In the future I will try to prevent this from happening.
Clicking on the load history brings up a menu which allows you to choose the sampling rate. When you make a selection, the load history is cleared, and samples begin to be taken at the sampling rate. If you choose 0.25 seconds, for example, the system attemps to sample the load every quarter second, or four times per second. The window is shown below.
The sample rate menu.
BeLoad can also run as a replicant. Beware: BeLoad is set to follow the edges of the container that it is in. When the container is resized, BeLoad will also resize. This includes dropping BeLoad into the desktop and changing the screen size. If this is a problem and people complain about it, I will fix it in the future.
